Pipeline magnetic separators MSP-MC

Pipeline magnetic separator MSP-MC

The magnetic filter MSP-MC is designed to separate iron contamination from liquids (or dry substances of good bulk properties).

Design of the ferrous trap

The basic elements the magnetic grate separator in housing consists of are magnetic tubes (made from stainless steel). While the material flows around the magnetic tubes, a very strong magnetic field (generated by the neodymium NdFeB magnets inside of the tubes) traps all metallic particles on the surface of the tubes. The sets of tubes are placed one above the other inside of the housing (or one behind the other – in case of a vertical position of the tubes) and the first set of tubes consists of one tube less. The grate sieve - created in this way – is in a very intensive contact with the flowing material and can capture even the smallest ferromagnetic impurities and guarantees an extremely high separation efficiency.

How does the pipeline magnet work?

The metal particles captured on the magnetic tubes migrate to the rear of the tubes where they remain protected from wash-off until the tubes are cleaned. Our pipeline magnetic separator is easy to install and maintain, made from stainless steel and its robust design (in connection with very strong neo magnets from rare earth ores) provides for a long-term and durable solution to magnetic separation problems.

Which way is the magnetic trap cleaned?

In the course of manual cleaning the inner part of the magnetic filter is taken out, the magnetic cores are pulled out of the tubes (by operating lever) and the captured magnetic impurities fall off the tubes spontaneously. In case of bigger pipeline magnetic separators (or if the cleaned material is considerably contaminated with ferromagnetic impurities), the demagnetization process can be carried out pneumatically (and – if needed - with automatic control).

Other advantages of our standard magnetic separator for pressure pipeline transport MSP-MC

  • Schema of the body of a flow magnetic separatoran integrated lock of the magnetic tubes (preventing unauthorized persons from tampering with the separator)
  • a chambered system ensuring the exposion of the liquid to extremely strong magnetic field for maximum time (the best possible efficiency of the magnetic separation is achieved as the entire length of the magnetic tubes is utilized)
  • a mesh strainer (removing non-magnetic particles)

We are able to manufacture this magnetic separator with the maximum induction of 18 700 G on the core and 11 700 G on the magnetic pipe sheating. Tolerance is +/- 10 %.

What pipeline is the magnetic filter connected to?

In order to ensure a quick and easy connection to the pipeline, the separator housing is standardly manufactured in diameters from 50 to 250 mm (but we can adjust the connection type as well as its size to client's requirements).

MSP-MC PIRANHA

Pipeline magnetic separator MSP-MC PIRANHA

  • High pull-off force
  • Integrated lock of magnetic tubes
  • Resistant all-stainless steel one- and double-sheathed design
  • Pressure resistance up to 10 bars
  • 18,700 Gauss on the core and up to 12,200 Gauss on the shell
  • Dividing system for using the entire length of magnetic tubes

The jacketed filters are used in heated pipeline applications where the temperature is critical to the viscosity (i. e., the separator tempering prevents the cleaned s - such as chocolate, syrups, jams, sauces - from solidifying).

MSP-MC EKO SEA SNAKE

Pipeline magnetic separator MSP-MC EKO SEA SNAKE

  • High pull-off force
  • Resistant all-stainless steel design
  • Pressure resistance up to 10 bars
  • 11,500 Gauss on the shell
  • Low purchase price
  • Low weight and small dimensions

This economical version of the pipeline magnetic separator with manual cleaning is designed for the separation of ferromagnetic particles from liquids flowing in small diameter pipes (as the separator body includes only one magnetic tube in a stainless steel housing).

Just like in the case of the standard MSP-MC, the trapped magnetic particles remain at the rear of the magnetic tube, i. e., they do not block the flowing cleaned material and are protected from wash-off until the protective tube is cleaned. During the cleaning it is necessary to unscrew the union nut in order to release the separator body from the piping system. Afterwards the magnetic core is moved by the control lever to the upper position, enabling the trapped magnetic impurities to spontaneously fall off the surface of the protective stainless steel tube (if needed, the protective tube can be also washed with water).

MSP-SC ORCA

Pipeline magnetic separator MSP-SC ORCA

  • Semi-automatic cleaning without removing the separator from the piping system
  • High pull-off force
  • Resistant all-stainless steel one- and double-sheathed design
  • Pressure resistance up to 10 bars
  • 18,700 Gauss on the core and up to 12,200 Gauss on the shell
  • The pneumatic piston makes cleaning much easier, especially for larger diameters of separators

The MSP-SC is a semi-automatic version of the standard MSP-MC pipeline magnetic separator.

The separator MSP-SC is equipped with

  1. flaps controlling the material in-/outflow
  2. valves controlling the rinse water inflow and the outflow of ferrous contaminants
  3. a FESTO pneumatic cylinder (to pull out the magnetic cores during the separator cleaning)

Although the working principle does not differ from that of the manual version, the cleaning itself is much simpler.

Main pros of the semi-automatic version:

  • the cleaning of the separator does not require taking the separator body out of the piping system.
  • thanks to the pneumatically controlled cylinder the handling of magnetic cores is much easier (in particular in case of bigger separators or extremely contaminated materials).

During the cleaning process the inflow as well as the outflow of the material must be manually stopped (by shutting the corresponding flaps). The manually controlled pneumatic cylinder will push the magnetic cores out of the protective stainless steel tubes into the upper position. Afterwards, the ball valves of the rinse and discharge pipes are manually opened, so that the ferromagnetic particles rinsed off of the protective stainless steel tubes can flow away through the waste hole (situated at the bottom of the separator body). In conclusion, both the ball valves are to be closed and the magnet cores moved to the bottom (working) position. The material inlet and outlet will be opened and the process of magnetic separation will continue until the next cleaning.
