Cone chain magnets MK with a chain and a snap hook

Cone magnets with a chain and a snap hook MK

The magnetic cone features a stainless steel chain with a carabiner for easy attachment to, for example, trousers. The diameter of the very strong neodymium NdFeB magnet is 14 mm and the total chain length is 60 cm.

How is the checking magnet MK used?

The sorting magnet MK is used to detect ferrous particles e. g. in purchased non-ferrous metal scrap or waste paper. Just insert the conical sorting magnet into the tested material in several locations and remove it slowly to check for ferrous contaminants on the cone magnet.

Which industrial branches can the conical sorting magnets be used in?

The cone magnet can be used for quick identification of ferrous metals in various industrial branches.

The cone chain magnet MK is a compact pocket tool for immediate field identification of magnetic metals in inspected material — typically when purchasing non-ferrous scrap or waste paper. Unlike the MTH and MTV test rods, which are designed for detailed sample analysis, the MK serves as an unobtrusive everyday tool that the operator always carries with them.

The operator brings the cone magnet close to the incoming material — scrap, bales of paper or other raw materials — and observes whether metal particles or objects are attracted to the magnet. The presence of attracted material immediately signals unwanted magnetic contaminants in the sample, giving the buyer grounds to reject or reprice the delivery before processing begins.

At the core of the MK is a strong neodymium NdFeB magnet with a 14 mm diameter in a durable conical housing. It is connected to a stainless steel chain with a total length of 60 cm, ending in a snap hook that allows quick attachment to a belt loop, key ring or work tools — so the MK is always within reach.

Thanks to its compact size and snap hook, the MK can be clipped to clothing or keys and carried throughout the entire work shift. The operator can then perform a quick check at any time and anywhere — right at the truck, in the yard or at the scales — without needing to search for or prepare a special instrument. This instant availability is particularly important during the rapid intake of large numbers of deliveries.

The MK is designed as a field orientation tool for the quick detection of the presence of magnetic metals — not as a precision analytical instrument. For more detailed and reliable inspection of granules, regranulates or smaller samples, we recommend the MTH test rods (with a tip for bulk materials) or MTV; the MK and the rods complement each other.

The MK is found primarily in scrap collection and recycling facilities, where it is used by receiving staff for rapid inspection of deliveries of metal scrap, paper, plastics or other waste. It is also used in industrial operations where it is necessary to quickly and ad hoc verify whether a material or product contains metallic contaminants.

The MK is in stock and available for immediate dispatch — it can be ordered directly from the e-shop. If you are interested in larger quantities or in combining the MK with other inspection magnets from our range (MTH, MTV, KS, SKM), we are happy to prepare an offer.
