Sample mounting press TVL
TVL sampling press is a unique mini test press for fast and inexpensive visual detection of undesirable contaminants in purchased or processed plastic regrinds, re-granulates, flakes, crumbs, residues from plastic production etc.
The fusing sampler consists of three modules:
- Modul is equipped with a touch screen for setting the desired temperature (ranging from 0 to 300 °C). The internal sensors automatically maintain the temperature at the set value.
- Modul contains a press unit (capable of exerting pressure of up to 10 bar), consisting of two heated (smoothly ground) steel plates. After achieving the required temperature (set on the display of module No. 1), the tested plastic material is poured between the hot press plates and - by rotating the press wheel – pressed into a thin disk with a thickness of 0.5 mm ± 0.1 mm. Therefore, the sample obtained in this way is sometimes referred to as "pancake".
- Modul also consists of two smoothly ground plates, however, equipped with a cooling circuit. After pressing in module No. 2, the plastic sample is inserted between the steel cooling plates of module No. 3, where it is rapidly cooled by circulating water. Internal threads (G1/4“) allow for easy connection to the external water supply circuit.
All three modules are independent, and therefore, it is possible to purchase e. g. only modules No. 1 and 2 without the cooling module. Nevertheless, the absence of module No. 3 will significantly extend the cooling time of the plastic sample.
Advantages of the mounting press
The TVL sampling press is a very interesting alternative to expensive melt point testers. Especially small and medium-sized companies often cannot afford expensive testing equipment, however, processing or dealing with untested plastic materials can lead to damage of expensive machinery as well as considerable financial losses and may threat the company's reputation.

For removing fine dust from plastic regrind, we recommend the Dust collector OZ with fully automatic continuous operation; for sampling plastic granules and regrind without opening the packaging, the Magnetic sampling rods MVT is the right choice. For sampling bulk and semi-liquid materials in a pipe system, we offer the Rotating sampler RV; for visual inspection of contamination in plastic samples, the Sample mounting press TVL.
The Magnetic sampling rods MVT are equipped with neodymium magnets that capture ferrous particles from 1 micron — sampling takes place directly inside the container without opening the packaging, keeping the material protected. The rod is 32 mm in diameter and 1,500 mm in standard length; we can adjust the length to fit your container. MVT is suitable for plastic granules, regrind and agricultural commodities.
The Dust collector OZ 1200 handles a throughput of 1,200 kg/h of regrind in fully automatic continuous operation. Side suction at the point of free fall removes fine dust directly from the material flow — eliminating the need for costly filters and reducing maintenance requirements. The unit is our own Czech-manufactured product.
The Rotating sampler RV offers a sampling ratio from 1:9 to 1:130, which you can set simply by changing the pin position. For an even lower sample share, multiple RV units can be connected in series — the ratios are then multiplied. The sampler handles material with a grain size up to 65 mm and requires a uniform material feed to maintain the set ratio accurately.
The Sample mounting press TVL melts a sample of plastic regrind, flakes or recyclate at 0–300 °C and, under pressure of up to 10 bar, produces a disc 0.5 mm ±0.1 mm thick that is suitable for visual inspection. The unit consists of three modules — temperature control with touchscreen, pressing unit, and optional water-cooled circuit; modules can be purchased separately. TVL is a cost-effective alternative to expensive laboratory equipment for small and medium-sized plastics processors.
The Rotating sampler RV is supplied with standard inlet diameters of 50–250 mm; we adapt the connection to flange, threaded or special fittings to match your line. The granulator blower is equipped as standard with a Jacob quick-release connector DN100; on request, we manufacture it for other pipe diameters. Both products are manufactured in the Czech Republic.
The Dust collector OZ and Magnetic sampling rods MVT are intended primarily for the plastics industry and recycling; the Rotating sampler RV is used in cement plants, lime works, and the mining, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The Sample mounting press TVL and the granulator blower are aimed at plastics manufacturers and processors operating their own recycling or grinding lines.
