Metal shavings manual magnetic collectors MTL
Magnetic hand-held collector with a deep magnetic field for collecting chips, nails, screws, washers and various small magnetic material.
Pulling the metal handle upwards will release the trapped metal objects from the magnetic bottom of the collector. This allows you to easily transfer the collected material to a suitable container.
How is a magnetic collector used?
This magnetic collector is great for cleaning the workplace when you need to collect small metal objects such as screws, nails, nuts, iron chips, clippings and sawdust, or to separate ferromagnetic material from other non-metallic parts, such as cleaning ash from metal dirt.
In addition to lifting and carrying metal objects over long distances, you can use the magnetic hand-held pick-up to pick up sunken metal parts from hard-to-reach places, such as cracks and crevices in the floor, from a tall carpet, or from the grassy area.

It depends on what you need to handle and where. For manually collecting chips, screws and small metal parts from floors or hard-to-reach spots, metal shavings manual magnetic collectors MTL are the right solution. For loading and unloading sheet metal and ferromagnetic parts at presses and machines, magnetic manipulators RM are designed for this purpose. For work in galvanising, oil or lacquering baths, we offer magnets for technological liquids TL. For lifting heavy loads by crane, choose permanent (SLM, GP250), battery-powered (BM, BMP) or electropermanent lifting magnets (NEO EP). Tell us your application parameters and we will recommend the right type.
The MTL collector is a handheld tool with a deep magnetic field that attracts metal chips, screws, nails and other small ferromagnetic objects from floors, gaps, mats and hard-to-reach places. It features a stainless steel design and easy release of collected material — simply pull the handle upward. It is suitable wherever the workplace needs to be kept free of loose metal contaminants, particularly in machining shops, workshops or warehouses. Collectors are in stock and available in the e-shop.
TL magnets are designed for handling parts submerged in galvanising, oil or lacquering baths. The all-stainless-steel design in DIN 1.4301 grade steel ensures resistance to chemical solutions, and the magnets can be safely immersed in the bath. The NdFeB magnetic cores are firmly enclosed inside stainless steel rods with a polished, easy-to-clean surface — the magnetic flux density on the rod surface reaches 11,500 G. The thermal resistance of the magnets is up to 80 °C. The standard length of the handling rod with a swivel joint is 1.25 m; we manufacture any length on request.
Permanent lifting magnets (SLM, GP250, NEO-HV) require no energy — they are activated by a lever handle and are always ready to use. They are maintenance-free with load capacities from 150 to 2,000 kg. Battery-powered magnets (BM, BMP) are remote-controlled up to 10 metres and are suitable for operations where the operator does not have direct access to the load. Electropermanent magnets (NEO EP) are activated by a short electrical pulse in 0.8 seconds; once activated they require no current and can be integrated into automated operations. The right type depends on load weight, control method and level of automation.
Permanent lifting magnets SLM are available with load capacities from 150 to 2,000 kg and handle both flat and cylindrical material (round bar, pipes). The GP250 model is specifically designed for handling steel sheets and plates in both horizontal and vertical positions — it lifts from 3 mm thickness and from 4 mm thickness separates a single sheet from a bundle. The NEO-HV model with an arm allows workpiece rotation by 90° and facilitates handling at horizontal machining centres and lathes. All crane magnets are tested with a safety factor of 3 or more.
These two functions are available on battery-powered lifting magnets of the BM range. The Variable Force function allows smooth adjustment of the magnet's force — it enables precise control of how many sheets the magnet lifts from a bundle without attracting the entire stack. The Tip-Off function provides gradual release of part of the load, so-called fanning, where sheets are separated one by one. Both functions increase precision and safety during handling, especially when processing thin sheet metal. The BMP magnets also handle circular and other profiles.
After delivery, we provide installation, commissioning and operator training. To maintain safety, we recommend regular annual measurement of lifting force — after a successful test, we issue a measurement certificate confirming that the magnet lifts the declared load. SOLLAU SLM crane permanent magnets carry a 5-year warranty on the magnetic system. We provide authorised service for all equipment throughout its service life.
