The FIREFLY portable lighted marker is used to quickly mark closed runways or taxiways in accordance with applicable FAA, EASA and L-14 regulations.
Peak luminance of up to 122,230 cd (74% higher than FAA requirements)
Visibility – the portable lighted marker is visible from a distance of 5-8 km during the daytime and at least 9.7 km at nighttime = clear and safe marking of a closed runway.
Production in the Czech Republic = you can configure the device according to your needs:
- 2 sizes: FIREFLY 4 (4.27 m, 13 InLED lights) and FIREFLY 6 (6.4 m, 17 InLED lights)
- Power supply: from the airport mains, petrol inverter generator or battery
- Chassis: with chassis for easy transport or without chassis for forklift handling.
- 3 lighting modes: Daytime, Nighttime, AUTO
- Flashing: can be selected according to ICAO (1s on/1s off) or FAA (2.5s on/2.5s off).

The portable lighted marker can be easily assembled and disassembled by one person in 30 seconds. Quick marking of a closed runway is crucial for the safety and smooth operation of an airport.

FIREFLY portable lighted runway marker – power supply, luminance and modes of operation
The luminance is 93,470 cd for the FIREFLY 4 and 122,230 cd for the FIREFLY 6.
The maximum luminance of the FIREFLY lighted marker thus exceeds the FAA minimum requirements by 74%!
The FIREFLY portable lighted runway closure marker has various power supply options: direct connection to the airport grid, petrol inverter generator with a 120-litre petrol tank (autonomous operation for more than 1 week) or a set of powerful batteries (operation for approx. 16 hours).
You can choose between 3 modes of operation of the lights:
- Day – the lights operate at the intensity required for daytime operation
- Night – the lights operate at the intensity required for nighttime operation
- AUTO – the light sensor automatically adjusts the light intensity according to outdoor lighting conditions
The FIREFLY is produced so that you can easily choose between two light flashing variants:
- According to the ICAO – lights on for 1 second and off for 1 second
- According to the FAA – lights on for 2.5 seconds and off for 2.5 seconds
The portable lighted runway closure marker is available in two variants
FIREFLY – with a chassis that allows easy transport behind a vehicle towbar and transport of up to two markers at the same time
FIREFLY ECO – the lighted marker is placed on four adjustable legs, designed for forklift handling.
