Advantages of ML ALARM magnetic separator
Blockage alarm
Europe’s first chute magnet with real-time blockage signal
Improved separation quality
Clogged separators lose efficiency. The ALARM system alerts operators when cleaning is necessary, ensuring maximum separation quality.
Minimised ddDowntime
Thanks to the ALARM system, operators clean only when necessary – saving time and avoiding unnecessary shutdowns.
Adjustable sensor position
Customise sensor placement to suit your specific product and contaminant size for optimal detection.
ML ALARM chute magnet – maximum efficiency, minimum downtime
ML ALARM is designed to remove ferrous contaminants from materials with poor flow properties (e.g. grain, flour, sugar, sawdust), which are not suitable for conventional grate separators.
The first magnetic separator in Europe with a unique blockage alarm system – clearly indicates when cleaning is required and when intervention is not necessary.
This functionality guarantees the separator always operates at maximum efficiency, improving product purity, reducing downtime and minimising damage to downstream equipment.
A visual LED beacon eliminates human error – operators only clean when necessary, improving productivity and reducing operating costs.
The ALARM system supports enhanced quality control, allows better audit traceability, and helps reduce customer complaints.
Chute magnets can be equipped with ferrite or the strongest neodymium magnets, depending on your application and separation goals.

SEPARATOR BLOCKAGE INDICATION
The ML ALARM chute magnet includes two magnetic plates on opposite sides of the housing. The ALARM system detects contamination on the plates. If one plate is clogged, the separator efficiency drops, which is signalled by a red LED on the door or beacon.
What do the LED colours mean?
| Green Light (100% efficiency) | Red Light (0% efficiency) |
|---|---|
| The separator is fully functional. | The separator is blocked and must be cleaned immediately! |

Frequently Asked Questions – Chute Magnets ML ALARM with Fill-Level Indication
We recommend the ML ALARM in operations where it is not possible to reliably estimate how quickly the separator becomes saturated — for example, when the amount of metal contaminants in the material is variable or when operation is irregular. The fill-level indication ensures that operators clean the separator exactly when necessary and do not miss a cleaning at a critical moment.
The system operates in two states: a green light indicates that the separator is working at full efficiency (100%), while a red light signals that the magnetic plates are completely saturated with contaminants and immediate cleaning is required (efficiency 0%). The visual LED beacon or light on the separator door is clearly readable by operators directly at the workplace.
The ML ALARM is designed for separating metal contaminants from materials with poor flow properties — typically grains, flour, sugar, sawdust or powder materials — for which conventional grid separators could become clogged or blocked. It is particularly suited to food processing, chemical, woodworking, pharmaceutical and ceramic industries.
We manufacture ML ALARM separators in connection diameters of 100 to 300 mm with a maximum capacity of 10 to 150 m³/h depending on the model. We will recommend the exact size and variant after analysing your operation and testing your material — tests are carried out free of charge with results within 3 working days.
Ferrite magnets are suitable for separating metal contaminants of standard size and are the more economical option. Neodymium magnets capture even very fine ferromagnetic particles and achieve higher magnetic induction — the choice depends on the required efficiency, the size of contaminants to be captured and the operating conditions; we will recommend the right variant after testing your material.
The separator is designed for manual cleaning — when the red signal activates, the operator opens the separator door and removes the captured ferromagnetic contaminants. The fill-level sensing probe is adjustable, allowing the system sensitivity to be adapted to the specific material and the size of contaminants being captured.
A saturated magnetic plate gradually reduces separation efficiency — in extreme cases down to 0%, at which point the separator ceases to fulfil its protective function. This can lead to metal contaminants penetrating downstream equipment, machine damage and customer complaints; the ALARM system signals this situation before it occurs.
Yes, we manufacture separators to order — we adapt connection diameters, the method of connection to the pipe system (standard flange or Jacob flange) and the position of the signalling probe. Every project begins with a site visit, measurement and design of a solution; delivery includes installation, commissioning, operator training and authorised service.
