Use of vibrating sieves for water recycling in PET processing
It is confirmed again that the reuse of natural and artificial resources is a key element of the circular economy. Vibrating sieves are used not only for the separation of particles for further production but also for the primary filtration of process water.
The PET recycling is the same case. After sorting the plastic bottles by type or color, the plastic is crushed into particles larger than 0.5 mm. They are then washed to remove any leftovers of beverages, glue, or labels.
At this stage, a specially adjusted liquid vibrating sieve is used to separate the PET particles from the water. This water can then be reused in the next wash cycle.
