Electro suspension magnet DND-MC E
Suspension magnet DND-MC E sits above a conveyor carrying material and as the material passes under the magnet, ferrous metal is attracted up and out of the non-magnetic burden. The magnetic attractive force of an electro suspension magnet is stronger at distance with a higher magnetic gradient (attracting and extracting smaller ferrous metals) than a permanent design. That is why the electro suspension magnets are preferable for the separation of tramp iron in the form of nuts, bolts and ferrous metal blasting caps. Besides, when there is a deep burden of conveyed material, high magnetic forces are needed to extract the ferrous metal from underneath the non-metallic material and the electromagnets are able to cope with this task. And for applications where the suspension magnet requires switching off, the only option is the electromagnetic version, where the magnetic field is easily switched on and off.

The electro suspension magnet DND-MC E is an electromagnetic plate with manual cleaning that is suspended above a belt conveyor and captures ferromagnetic contaminants from the conveyed material – including awkwardly shaped parts (bolts, nuts, balls) as well as particles hidden beneath a deeper layer of material. It protects downstream processing equipment and ensures smooth production operations.
Electromagnetic plates generate a stronger and deeper magnetic field than permanent overhead magnets, making them better suited for capturing heavier and more complex iron parts. They also allow the magnetic field to be easily deactivated by switching off the power supply when required – for example, for operational or maintenance reasons – which is not possible with permanent magnets.
We offer three models: the compact E-conomic for mobile crushing and recycling lines (max. suspension height 450 mm, air-cooled); the E-fficient with a max. suspension height of 1000 mm and a power consumption of up to 12 kW (air-cooled); and the E-xtreme with an oil-cooled coil for long service life and a power consumption of up to 34 kW.
The DND-MC E electromagnets are designed for electrical connection at 415 V (also compatible with 400 V and 380 V), with power consumption ranging from 0.6 to 34 kW depending on the model. The maximum installation height above the conveyor is 1000 mm and the maximum belt speed is 5 m/s. The base of the separator is made of 8 mm manganese steel, resistant to abrasion and impact.
The control cabinet manages the operation of the separator and is equipped with a transformer, rectifier, and surge protection with fast-acting semiconductor fuses. The welded steel cabinet has IP 65 protection; oil-cooled versions are additionally fitted with an oil level indicator.
Cleaning is carried out manually: the operator deactivates the magnetic field by switching off the power supply, after which the captured ferromagnetic contaminants fall away from the underside of the separator. This procedure is safe and requires no complex handling of the separator. The exact cleaning interval depends on the level of contamination of the processed material.
The DND-MC E finds application in the most demanding industrial environments – particularly in mobile and stationary crushing and screening lines, municipal solid waste processing, mining and quarrying, glass recycling, rubble crushing, demolition work, end-of-life vehicle processing, and foundries.
