The simple METRON 05 CR with round aperture is used to detect metal particles in pipe-transported bulk materials.
This detector is equipped with a powerful AMD 05 control unit with a range of advanced features such as automatic product setup, automatic calibration and the digital filtration system. The unit is equipped with a 5-line LCD display and is controlled with 4 ergonomic buttons. Its operation is simple and intuitive. The control unit is installed on the detector frame, but it can also be placed in a separate housing outside the detector.

Metal free zone - MFZ
It is essential for the proper metal detector functioning that there are no fixed (e.g. conveyor structure, its covering) or moving metal parts (e.g. conveyor rollers) in the proximity of the detector’s aperture. Therefore, the MFZ is defined for each detector and it should not contain moving or fixed metals. The aperture of the metal detector is to be placed in the middle of this metal free zone. When you observe the MFZ when installing the detector, you will prevent false alarms and false detections and contribute to the correct detector operation.

Sensitivity of a metal detector
The detector's sensitivity depends on many parameters, such as the aperture dimensions (the lower is the aperture height, the higher is the detector sensitivity), the conveyor belt speed, the density of the product, its temperature and humidity, etc.
Maximum obtainable sensitivity can be established by testing your product sample in our laboratory. We will perform these tests free of charge. Please contact us, we will discuss the test execution as well as the dispatch of your material samples.

METRON 05 CR is an economical gravity free-fall metal detector for pressure pipelines with apertures of 35–600 mm, offering an attractive price-to-performance ratio for applications where advanced connectivity or a touchscreen are not required. Compared to the premium METRON 07 PowerLine, it features a simple 4-button interface with a 5-line LCD display and IP 65 protection (METRON 07 PowerLine: 5.7" colour touchscreen, Ethernet, IP 66). For pneumatic conveying, choose METRON 05 PowerLine, which is designed for higher pipeline pressure.
Sensitivity depends on the aperture diameter – the smaller the aperture, the higher the sensitivity. Additional factors include material speed (0.05–1.5 m/s), product density, temperature and moisture. Yes. For proper operation of METRON 05 CR, a Metal Free Zone must be maintained – no stationary or moving metal objects (support structures, rollers, etc.) should be present in the immediate vicinity of the aperture. Failure to observe the MFZ causes false signals and unnecessary product rejection. We will help you calculate the MFZ for your specific installation – just contact us.
We supply METRON 05 CR as standard for pipe diameters of 35–600 mm – one of the widest standard ranges in our portfolio of detectors for pressure pipelines. On request, we manufacture the detector with a non-standard aperture diameter, height or frame. The most common special versions are the ATEX version for explosive environments and the Alutron version, which eliminates false signals caused by metallised film (Patent No. 4342826).
METRON 05 CR meets HACCP requirements. IP 65 protection ensures resistance to dust and water jets; the operating temperature range of -10 °C to +50 °C covers most industrial applications. If your audit requires IP 66 or IFS, BRC or SQF certification, consult us – for more demanding environments we offer the METRON 07 PowerLine model.
The AMD 05 control unit features a 5-line LCD display and 4 ergonomic buttons – operation is intuitive even without specialist training.
