Metal detector METRON 05 PowerLine for pneumatic conveying systems
The METRON 05 PowerLine metal detector for pneumatic transport is used to detect metal particles in bulk materials transported in pneumatic conveying systems (pressure or vacuum). It is the only metal detector in the world that can be directly integrated into a pneumatic transport system without the use of a sensing tube. Thanks to this patented design the detector is immune to external electromagnetic interference and can achieve extremely accurate metal detection.
The basic size range is available for pipe diameters of 250, 300, 350, and 400 mm, adaptors for other diameters are also available.
This high-precision metal detector enables to detect metals even at a conveying speed of up to 30 m/s! It is often installed in combination with fast acting eject gate TEXREJECT , what results in the ejection of metal contaminants with minimal good material loss.
This detector is equipped with a powerful AMD 05 control unit with a range of advanced functions such as automatic product setup, automatic calibration, or a digital filtration system. The unit is equipped with a 5-line LCD display and controlled by 4 ergonomic buttons. Its operation is simple and intuitive.
Easy installation - as no sensing tube is needed, the detector can be installed directly into the existing pipeline by means of quick clamps or flanges. It cannot be easier!

Sensitivity of a metal detector
The detector sensitivity depends on many parameters, such as the aperture diameter (the smaller the aperture, the higher the sensitivity), the material speed, the density of the product, its temperature, humidity, etc.
Maximum obtainable sensitivity can be established by testing your product sample in our laboratory. We will perform these tests free of charge. Please contact us, we will discuss the test execution as well as the dispatch of your material samples.17.03.2022

The P-TRON series (P-TRON 03 FM, P-TRON 05 GM V1/V2) is designed for smaller pipe diameters and applications with lower throughput requirements. The METRON 05 PowerLine covers aperture diameters from 220 to 630 mm and handles conveying speeds of up to 30 m/s, making it suitable for high-capacity pneumatic lines. Its key advantage is a patented design without a sensor tube: the detector can be integrated directly into existing pipework, making it immune to electromagnetic interference from the surrounding steel structure. This immunity delivers extremely precise detection even in demanding industrial environments.
The standard size range covers pipe diameters of 250, 300, 350 and 400 mm; versions for 220 mm and 630 mm are also available. Adapters or custom solutions are available for non-standard diameters. The detector detects metals at conveying speeds of 0.5 to 30 m/s in both pressure and vacuum pneumatic systems. The IP 54 protection rating and operating range from −10 °C to +50 °C allow deployment in typical industrial environments.
Sensitivity depends on aperture diameter, material speed and density, temperature and moisture. Indicative values for steel ball detection: aperture 220 or 250 mm → diameter 2.5 mm; 300 mm → 3.0 mm; 350 mm → 3.2 mm; 400 mm → 4.0 mm; 630 mm → 6.0 mm. The detector captures both free metal particles and inclusions inside a granule or fibre. We recommend verifying the exact sensitivity for your specific application and material with a test — tests are carried out free of charge, with results guaranteed within three days.
Thanks to the patented design without an additional sensor tube, the detector can be mounted directly onto existing metal pipework using quick clamps or flanges — no Metal Free Zone is required. Installation is therefore fast and does not require extensive modifications to the line. The standard delivery includes the detection head, AMD 05 control unit, connecting cables, installation hardware and user manual.
The High-Speed TEXREJECT eject gate is a high-speed valve designed specifically for use with the METRON 05 PowerLine. It is used wherever material passes through pipework at high speed — typically textile fibres or granulated raw materials. With a switching time of 0.05 s and mechanical durability of 300,000 ejection cycles without visible wear, it precisely separates the detected contaminant with minimal losses of good material. The unit is available for both pressure and vacuum systems.
Optional equipment includes: automatic Texreject rejection system, warning device (beacon or buzzer), contaminant collector for pressure and vacuum systems, and test rod for verifying sensitivity. Special versions include integrated control unit or custom colour finish to customer specification. If you have specific requirements, contact us — we will prepare a tailored solution.
The METRON 05 PowerLine is designed for the inspection of bulk materials conveyed pneumatically — under pressure and under vacuum. It is most commonly used by plastics processors (granulate, regranulate, flakes), textile fibre manufacturers and recyclers, and chemical or pharmaceutical production facilities. The detector captures metal contaminants without interrupting the material flow, protecting downstream processing equipment from damage and ensuring output purity.
