TRANSTRON HL is a complete transport system for metal detection designed exclusively for the woodworking industry — specifically for the inspection of whole logs. While TRANSTRON is intended for general industrial applications (food processing, chemical industry, plastics, and others), TRANSTRON HL is built on a robust and durable conveyor structure adapted for the heavy, irregular, and bulky materials typical of woodworking facilities.
TRANSTRON HL is the ideal complement to the tunnel metal detector METRON 05 CO, which has been specially developed for the woodworking industry. The METRON 05 CO features an octagonal shape and stainless steel construction, enabling inspection of logs with a diameter of up to 1,600 mm at conveyor speeds of up to 6 m/s. The metal detector identifies metallic foreign objects embedded in logs — nails, screws, bullet fragments, or wire — protecting saw blades and other production equipment from damage.
TRANSTRON HL combines a conveyor and a detector as a single integrated unit custom-designed for the specific conditions of each facility. The conveyor is engineered from the outset around the requirements of the METRON 05 CO detector, guaranteeing correct observation of the metal-free zone and eliminating the risk of false signals. The robust, low-maintenance conveyor design is adapted to the demanding conditions of woodworking plants. The result is a straightforward solution that integrates directly into the existing line.
TRANSTRON HL is designed for facilities where metal inspection of whole logs or large-volume timber is required — for example sawmills, particleboard production, or industrial timber processing. Detecting metals in logs before they enter the production line protects saw blades, milling heads, and other costly machine components from damage, reducing downtime and repair costs.
