Plate metal detector METRON 03 SL
The METRON 03 SL single surface metal detector with an integrated Duroplex plate is used to detect metal particles products transported on belt conveyors. We recommend using this metal detector preferably for flat products.
This metal detector does not require any metal-free zone and its use is very variable.

Sensitivity of a metal detector
The detector's sensitivity depends on many parameters, such as the aperture dimensions (the lower is the aperture height, the higher is the detector sensitivity), the conveyor belt speed, the density of the product, its temperature and humidity, etc.
Maximum obtainable sensitivity can be established by testing your product sample in our laboratory. We will perform these tests free of charge. Please contact us, we will discuss the test execution as well as the dispatch of your material samples.

METRON 03 SL is the right choice where product height on the belt is low or where you need to inspect hollow objects, and where quick, cost-effective installation is the priority. Unlike tunnel detectors, it requires no Metal Free Zone and can be mounted with just a few screws — no modifications to the existing conveyor frame or rollers are needed. If product height is greater or detection from all sides is required, we recommend a tunnel metal detector.
Thanks to its sliding detection plate installed directly into the conveyor belt, METRON 03 SL does not generate an interfering field against the surrounding metal conveyor structure — so no Metal Free Zone is needed. In practice, you simply fasten the detector to any conveyor with a few screws, with no changes to the frame or rollers. Installation takes minutes, not hours.
METRON 03 SL is designed for products with low material height on the belt and for inspecting hollow objects. Detector width ranges from 200 to 950 mm (other sizes available on request); the detection area is B − 10 mm, covering nearly the full belt width. The lower the product height, the higher the detection sensitivity achieved.
METRON 03 SL comes with the AMD 03 control unit, featuring optical signalling for both detection and fault, conveyor vibration suppression, and straightforward operation. Unlike AMD 05 (used in METRON 05 C/D/S models), it has no LCD display or product memory — it is designed for less demanding applications where process conditions do not change. The result is a stable, easy-to-service unit.
METRON 03 SL achieves protection rating IP 54 and operates in a temperature range of −10 °C to +50 °C at relative humidity of 0–95 % (without condensation). Maximum power consumption is 50 W at a supply voltage of 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The detector is designed for maintenance-free, year-round continuous operation.
The detector can be supplied with a warning device (beacon, buzzer), remote reset, or conveyor reverse control. The range of optional equipment is narrower than for tunnel detectors — automatic physical rejection systems (pusher, drop gate) are not available for this model.
