METRON 05 ProfiLine single plate metal detector is used to detect metal contaminants in plastic foil strips and textile materials. It can reliably detect metals even at a speed of 10 m/s and achieves excellent results in the detection of metal needles in textile fleece.
It can be installed vertically and horizontally. Thanks to the two-point mounting, its installation is very easy and fast.

The antistatic sensor surface enables excellent detection results and therefore the METRON 05 ProfiLine requires only a minimal metal-free zone.
This detector is equipped with a high-performance AMD 05 control unit with a wide range of advanced functions. The unit is fitted out with a 5-line LCD display and controlled by 4 ergonomic buttons. Its operation is simple and intuitive.

Sensitivity of a metal detector
The detector's sensitivity depends on many parameters, such as the aperture dimensions (the lower is the aperture height, the higher is the detector sensitivity), the conveyor belt speed, the density of the product, its temperature and humidity, etc.

It is most commonly used in the textile industry — where it reliably detects broken needles and other metal parts concealed in textile fleece — and also for inspecting foil rolls or webs made of plastics and non-woven fabrics. The detector protects expensive production equipment from damage or serves for continuous product quality monitoring.
The METRON 05 ProfiLine is a single-segment detector that covers the entire detection width with one sensor — making it simpler in construction and more cost-effective. The METRON 04 ProfiLine, by contrast, is a multi-segment detector that can more precisely locate the position of each detected metal across the width of the material, which is advantageous for targeted rejection of contaminants from wide webs. The choice between the two models depends on the required detection width and whether you need cross-directional position accuracy.
We supply detectors with detection widths from 500 to 12,000 mm, in 100 mm increments. The overall width of the detector is always 160 mm greater than the detection width. The detector length is manufactured to order according to your requirements, so it can be precisely tailored to the width of your production line.
Sensitivity depends on the detection width, material speed, and material properties. The sensitivity diagram applies for a ratio of LB 1.5 × LH (contaminant length × height). The detector operates reliably at material speeds of up to 10 m/s, and the antistatic surface of the sensor minimises the required Metal Free Zone. To determine the specific sensitivity for your material and line speed, we recommend carrying out a free test.
The detector can be installed horizontally or vertically, adapting to different production line configurations. The two-point mounting system ensures fast and straightforward installation and removal — without the need for complex structural modifications. Thanks to minimal Metal Free Zone requirements, integration into existing lines is easy even in space-restricted environments.
